[pre-1.2] My displacement is tearing mesh (there are holes in it)

This is caused by having different smoothing groups in displaced mesh. To fix this, either add "smooth" modifier to your displaced mesh:



or


Use "Auto Smooth" option for selected faces:



Sometimes you may also need to create additional edge loops in your geometry for the edges to stay sharp:
